Multiplayer (also known as Online Mode) was officially released on October 13, 2020 on Steam and Oculus Quest as the new Online mode. Players may privately invite persons via a code, or join a public match. You can play various base game songs with other players. Multiplayer badges were added later on. Crossplay with Steam and Oculus was added on September 15, 2021. PlayStation VR multiplayer was released on October 25, 2021, more than a year after Steam and Oculus had received the multiplayer update.

The update was critically panned, with critics and players alike finding issues with the UI, connectivity, and gameplay.

- Casual Cutter is awarded if you have the worst max combo
- Saber Surgeon is awarded for the best precision
- Lumberjack is awarded for the worst precision
